CPU heatsink is annoying the living **** out of me

Ok so i'm really pissed right now. The stock intel heatsink magically fell off the motherboard, now reinstalling it is annoying me. I can't seem to put it on. Is there any magical way to put it on, and will i have to replace the thermal paste?

haha i always have trouble with putting it back on.

basically you have to pull the black bits on the pins up and then push the pins into the mobo.

then use a screwdriver to push down the black bits over the pins and turn them which ever way it is. i usually have to push quite firmly. and a screwdriver does help a lot.

And yeah, you should re-apply thermal paste.

You may want to consider an aftermarket one anyways.

yeah, i really hate the 775 socket fans. well, specifically my stock intel fan. i can't imagine those of you with the super huge heatsink not be concerned with it plopping off.

If it's fitted properly it should not fall off regardless of whether it's a cheap stock one or not.
