CPU help!

Hi there, i have a small problem, when i switch on my pc the power LED light comes on, and the one below that (think the battery light) stays on constantly. I can't figure out why. Can any1 please tell me? Would greatly appreciate it.

Another question : I have a relative's computer which he wanted me to fix...anyway when u switch on the computer...the CPU LED lights come on for a split second and goes off, i changed the battery & that didnt help. I think it's the power supper that could be faulty. Any suggestions?

Is the light issue in the first question the only problem with the computer> Because if so then its probably just the "On" light.
And If its a PC then i doubt it would have a battery light.

As for the second question, I cannot answer as you have not give much detail.
Does the computer attempt to start up at all? ie. any noise or beeping? or is the LED the only reaction that you get?
 
just wondeirng about that too, my amd copmuter turns on, the fan goes on, hdd, cds, then 1/2 a second of running, dies. replaced psu, ran, for a month, then did the same thing again >=(cant figure it out
