CPU installation question.

Here is what Im working with.

MOBO--- GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L

CPU--- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

So Im putting the CPU into the socket and I get it in with the yellow arrow on the CPU lined up with the arrow on the board and I lower the load plate and I try to close the socket lever down but it doesnt close easily. Should I have to put a decent amount of pressure on the lever or should it fall into place?

Yes, you should have to apply a relative amount of pressure, but not too much.

Like enough to feel like youre pressing the pins into the CPU?

The CPU, once it is in the correct area, should just fall into the socket.

It does. But once i go to put the plate down, it doesnt close.
