CPU monitoring program

That heatsink you are looking at uses push pins. I would get a normal size heatsink that uses screws. I don't know why Intel decides to continue to use those push pins to mount heatsinks on their processors. Screws are a much better option.

oh ok well i just want something that will be reliable so my cpu doesnt touch 80 C lol on those 95 degree days last night it was 68 outside and i had my window open and fan sucking air in and my cpu was at 70C or around it wasnt at 80 so it felt good that it was circulating that good but it was bad when it be real hot days with sun raging in my window and im one of the people who likes to game alot

Well a POSSIBLE choice might be this for both overclocking + our size issues.

http://www.svc.com/ec-hpi-12025.html Overall Dimensions 155 x 120 x 140 mm

It is also a bracket type so no push pins and supports 775 socket. The only issue we might run into is the length due to your ram but I am still waiting for a reply email as far as how high it sits up from the bottom to the heatsink.
Just make sure it will fit with your board...sadly we can only do so much :)

Please take note you will need thermal paste...I would suggest AS5 which is here.

ok i was talking to a friend of mine and he said that intel gives you like a cheap grease prettymuch the thermal grease thats pre applied to the heatsink fan and stuff he said that if i get the grease remover and apply some new thermal grease which he picked out for me on new egg that it may lower the cpus temp under full load and stuff cuz on 70 degree days i still have 55 56 Celcius not sure if thats normal or i could do better and thats when im not gaming

Well they do give a cheap grease but I gotta admit I only see a 5c difference with AS5 which is the usual choice for gamers.

You don't need grease remover though...a cheap solution to cleaning your chip and heatsink of paste is using Isopyric Alcohol 90% it dries almost immediately and will easily take the paste off. Can buy at stores like Walmart for $1-2 and then I just use napkins. Some recommend a fancy micro towel or non lint etc but I never used it and never had issues.

Put the napkin over the bottle dip upside down for a second and clean the heatsink till you no longer get residue on the napkin.

ok you said napkin so what type of cloth would be best cuz i really dont want to get napkin particles on the cpu lol and then use alcohol which is considered flammable and then when things heat up KAboom ya know lol umm imma get the thermal grease which is faster thermal grease remover or alcohol like how long they both take til i can say its fully clean andhook everything up again

You would have to do it on purpose to cause that scenario and even then its not possible...no oxygen so a fire couldn't happen. Perhaps a burning smell but even that I doubt you would notice bad temps with your CPU before that happened.
I dunno...have used napkins for the past 6 years and use isopyric alcohol on over 30 builds now and never had a issue with the combo cept 1 bottle lasted me all 30 builds + 6 month fan cleanings with it. So your on your own on another option as I never felt like spending premium price for the same thing so I can't advice you there.

Yeah it is a decent cooler....I will warn you I use the older version on a 5400+ and it does a good job but it wont overclock to insane speeds but you should be able to get 3.2ghz maybe better with it. However it should easily fit your case AND its not a pushpin setup so you really can't lose here.

Pick up a tube of AS5 and you should be good to go mate.

ok i got the artic freezer 7 on the way the cpu cooler im saying now i got some thermal grease on the way as well just cant get thermal grease remover so might have to use alcohol to remove the old compound

Well trust me the Isopyric Alcohol 90% really is the best and cheapest solution possible. It has little risk as it dries pretty much immediately at %90+ Using a paper towel wont cause fires either and is the best solution.

Don't let the retail stores fool you....the best is not the highest price sometimes the cheap solutions are superior :)

Lemme know how it works out for you.

well i got 70 percent alcohol couldnt find 90% today would that still work? and someone told me they used 70 percent as well b4 to do this job

Yeah it will work...just give it a few moments to make sure its dry. I use 91% as its the only thing Walmart sells in my area. I have used 70% in the past with no issues. The important thing is to make sure you keep cleaning it till you see zero residue come off both the Chip and the new heatsink (always clean a new one for any glue/etc that can build up)

Well at 91% it takes 15 seconds. I mean you can see it happening. Just coat the napkin with a thin layer of it then wipe the CPU. Don't dump it on the CPU.

Sure but its gonna be time consuming :P Can always stop at a local fast food joint buy lunch and get 10-15 of them.

i might just go to fast food place and get some but when i apply the thermal paste what do i use to spread it out good
