So your saying that going from a 2.8 to a 3.06 is worth it? It's not. It's still only a single core processor. A 200 mhz increase won't even be noticeable, espcially on an old P4. Get realistic now. In order to get a good performance increase, he'll need a new system.

Well... neither is what you "answered" since that's not a Pentium D so.......

Yeah since the Dimension 4600I is a slot 478 machine and pentium D wasn't available until slot 775. So its a dead end.

Okey, READ THE FRICKEN OP. He wants to know if he can upgrade to a Pentium D. He did not ask if he can upgrade to a faster P4.
