Help!
anyway, i have just added some replacement thermal paste to my cpu and heat sink but my temp sores to 80 when i play any sort of cpu eating game or program.
now im not sure if its just the paste it's self of something else has gone horrebly wrong.
please help me on this matter as games are fun but not when my cpu melts.

my sink is on fine and i did what i was told from a site which told me that i should put a blob on the middle of the cpu and put the heatsink on top.
also in other info, my cpu fan wont reach speeds exess off 3000 rpm, even at 65 degrees!
im not sure what to do, mabey it is my paste?

Hey

I would re-apply the paste by putting a small (maximum size of one rice grain) blob at the centre of the CPU. Then, I would use a smooth surface like a credit card or something and create a fine layer of approx. 0.5mm and only then put the HSF on top of it. It would also help telling us what processor and what HSF you use.

yea, i agree with jancz3rt, re apply the paste making sure the cpu and heatsink are purified (with rubbing alcohol 90% or so) and then clean it off with a coffee filter (doesnt leave lint behind). then, simply reapply the paste with a maximum size of one rice grain (depending on your cpu, maybe less if your putting it on the bare core) and then rub it around with your hand in a plastic bag. that always works nicely for me.
