CPU problem in Win2K

Ok, i just installed a fresh copy of windows 2000 PRO (formatted and all), and when i get in windows while nothing has been installed yet, my mouse starts to "shock" a lil bit, i thought it was a mouse problem at first , but later when i start to play a game, it also shocks in game (not long, just about 1 sec orso), but it happens randomly always about 3 - 5x each min.

Its not long, but very irritating, i can't seem to find the cause, but i know something is using CPU, but how is that possible while i just installed win2k?, i reinstalled win2k + formatted about 3x!, and still same problem everytime...

Any idea's?

Umm? shock? I've never heard of it. or maybe I'm just misunderstanding you.

Anyway you said something was using your CPU well did you install the windows updates and firewall before connecting to the internet?

Shock as in, "lag", aka "interupting"...

For example i'm in a game, and i walk forward, and for about 0.3 to 1sec it "interupts" "lags" a bit.., take it that an application takes 100% of your CPU and play a game, such lag.

And i had this lag problem everytime i install win2k while it works just perfectly on windows XP, but i want 2k not Xp.

It doesnt matter if i update or not, the problem will keep going.
And i can't find out which application is doing it.

First time yes (but no firewall since i got a router), second time no, third time no.
Besides, the third time i've only used sites that were drivers only.

And all 3x had the same problem.

press ctrl-alt-delete, click processes, click cpu, click cpu so it has system idle at the top. watch.

Wish it would be so easy, but so far i couldnt find it.
I don't mean the processes, i meant the application that uses the CPU.

There is no spyware on the pc , im fully sure of that because i just have a fresh copy , and as i said, it happened BEFORE i connected to the internet.

okay, just making sure.
you have an wired optical mouse right?
and the newest drivers for all of your hardware?
shouldnt you run microsoft antispyware anyway? just to check, and prevent future spyware problems.,,

Its an half-life game, and trust me, its happens in every single game, when it "lags" a bit, it does it throughout the whole computer that effects every single program, every game .. etc.
