Would a change from my Sempron 3200+ to an Athlon 3400+ (or better) CPU improve my gaming experience??? If not, what would be another choice???

to an extent yes, depending on other factors in the rig such as graphics card, but dont expect miracles

the faster fsb would be a plus too. and not just for games.

that's like saying what's better, a celeron 3.06 or a p4 3.2.

I'd say getting that memory up to 1Gig would help IMMENSLY. Do you have 2x256MB or 1x512? If its 1x512, a 512 stick of ram is pretty cheap, and if its 2x256MB then going out and buying a gig stick will run you ~100 bucks roughly, depending on the quality you want. Then you might think about finding what your highest supported processor is, and looking for a good bargain.

Improve performance? Yes. Worth it? No.

Of course it depends on your budget, but is it a Socket 939 or Socket 754? For Socket 939, it is worth getting a dual core processor like the X2 3800+.

yea, i'd add 512mb to that. that should add a lot of performance, especially in Doom 3 and such memory intensive games. i mean, even in Quake 4 i use 1.2-1.8gb of memory, but thats because i max it at "ultra quality"
looks like a very well balanced system, though the extra memory should be very beneficial, more so that a slightly better processor.
