CPU speed incorrect

I just completed building my system. The problem is since I first turned it on the bios displays the incorrect processor (asus a7s8x-mx). I have AMD sempron 3000 but the bios says I have a AMD 64 1.2. The specs for the motherboard are for a sempron. It wont let me manualy change it. I went ahead and install windows xp and it says the same thing under system info. I updated the bios but no change. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

i had the same problem, i found out that it was to do with the bios being set up wrong by the computer it self. what you have to do is set the CPU's clock speed by your self. I put up the clock speed up by 5 or 10 each time and saved it restarted to see if i got the corect speed in the boot up sequence. BE AWARE THAT THE COMPUTER SOMETIMES DOES NOT START UP DUE TO THE MOBO NOT SUPPORTING CERTIAN SETTINGS, so be properd to clear the BIOS and try a different number.

Fsb

Is The Fsb Set Correctly For The Cpu. Check Website For Fsb Setting In Bios. This Will Change The Speed Of The Cpu.
When You First Install A Cpu It Defaults To Its Lowest Fsb Speed.
