CPU temp really really high!

ok, so i downlaoded the program SiSoftware Sandra. I do a mainbaord scan and i look at the temps.

System specs:
AMD x2 4400+
7800GT
Gigabyte ga-k8n-sli
420 watt PSU


My Baord temp is at 26C, the CPU 1 is at 27C and the CPU 2 temp at a whopping 69C????? I dont know whats wrong but my computer runs fine. In the task manager it says i'm using both cores. I dont know what to do! plz help!
 
I seriously doubt those temps are accurate. Try another program and see if the results are the same, or check in the BIOS.
 
ok, it looks like the temps where accurate. I downlaoded the everest ultimate edition trial version and it said the same thing. I cant find the temp in the BIOS for some reason

they are almost certainly wrong. Touch the thing with your fingers and see how hot it is.
 
ok, i finnally found the manual and found the temp in the BIOS. It says 25C which seems right.If i touch the heatsink thats about what it feels like. Any idea why those programs said it was so high? (only CPU 2 temp was high)

you should only be getting one temp reading, its just 2 cores on 1 die. Your temp reading 1 seems correct. temp 2 has been puller out of the monitors arse
 
AMD mobos are notorious for wacked-out temp readings. Try this:
Start Sandra. Then put your PC into Hibernation. Wait like a half hour. Then restart it and immediately check your CPU temp. Subtract maybe 2 degrees for heating during restarting. Make sure you check the room temp first to get an idea of ambient conditions. Then you'll see now how much to subtract to get a ballpark REAL temperature! This is how I found out MY CPU temps were reading about 15°F too high.
