Hi everyone,
I'm curious about my CPU and GPU temps. Is there some good software out there wither for free, or for charge that can give me an accurate assessment of my computers temperature.
I wonder at times if I'm getting too hot, especially with a laptop that I play games on. I try to be ultra careful with my laptop, and this is the next step of protection. I do have my laptop on a rack, to give it airflow under the machine and to allow the fan to work better. I use a rack because the fan's intake is on the bottom of the machine not the side like many laptops.
BUT, I don't want something cheap (or free) that barely does the job and is hard to use. I also don't want "free" software that never stops asking if i want to purchase it. And if it has ANY problems with spyware, adware, viruses, and so on.... I don't want it.
I am VERY careful what I put on my machine, so serious suggestions only.
I really prefer not to use software that is free. I dont mind things that are well known like AVG Free, but I dont want no-name items tossed at me. Yes I'm picky, I like to think of it as protecting my investment.
I would prefer to have something that can measure both the CPU and GPU temps.
My System:
2008 Dell 1520 Laptop (one of the last ones built)
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz
3GB DDR2 SDRAM 670MHz
Samsung 226GB HDD @ 5400rpm
nVIDIA 8600m GT GPU (from Dell, so yeah....)
DVD+-RW
1280x800 matte finish screen
Windows XP-SP3
