depends what cpu but over 60*c id be getting worried
Here's a link to the max temps on the 5200 X2's.

Are you getting 56 degrees at idle or under a load?
Okay, a couple of thoughts on this.
- Do you use Cool N' Quiet? Since this steps down the processor frequency during idle, this can make a big difference in temperatures.
- Do you have the Brisbane core? Brisbane's have a reputation for often giving false temperature readings.
I have Cool N quiet disabled, I read somewhere to disable for better perforamance thats why I set it off and yes it is the Brisbane core.
I was also thinking of getting a new heatsink for it
CNQ shouldn't hurt performance (unless you overclock, I suppose). It is made to throttle the CPU up to full speed whenever it is needed. And a new heatsink will probably help if you are using the stock one.
Sorry to steal the thread, but I didn't want to open a new one. My computer is running at 65c. (pretty much idle) Is that really bad? I think it's oc to 3.15. Not sure if that's the right way to put it.![]()

Well, new heatsink will help you, heat sink (or heatsink) is an environment or object that absorbs and dissipates heat from another object using thermal contact (either direct or radiant). Hope the following source will help you to get new heatsink http://www.google.com/products?q=he...a=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title
