maybe when i installed my video card and deleted the nvidia drives since it was integrated i somehow deleted amd cool and quit, although when i put in my gigabyte disc it says its installed
it didnt say anything about it, but i think i found out the reason, the vga is right below the processor, and i felt the vga and its hot to the touch, so heat is probally emitting off of that and getting sucked in by the fan...anyway to fix this?
i didnt use the stuff on the heatsink. I took rubbing alcohol and whipped it off. Buy some arctic silver 7 thermal paste and put on ur cpu. It will drop the temperature. My temp went down 6 degrees.
just apply alittle dot to the center, then i used my finger to cover the top of the cpu. Make sure you whip the old paste off the top of the cpu and the heatsink with rubbing alcohol first, otherwise your waisting ur time.
graphics cards add case heat... its that simple. ive got a 7900gtx in my box and its pushs air both in and out of the case extra heat will make it run a little warmer. my temps went from 32 in winter to 41 in the summer. of course mines a dual core and ought to run a bit warmer anyways.
those temps aren't bad or anything. gpu's always throw off more heat than the cpu so its normal to see a rise. you could lower your temps by increasing the air flow in your case, adding more or bigger fans.
check to see your gpu temps if they seem high than replacing the gpu heatsink with a zalman might be an option.
not too sure with ati, but i know nvidia has a display in the nvidia control panel. i would think that ati should have the same. right click on your desktop goto the ati option or your specific card option and see if there is a display some where in the control panel options.
