Are these idle temps normal? Used Everest.

CPU: 19c
Core1: 37c
Core2: 41c

One way to cross check besides going into the bios if you have a hardware monitor there is to run a freeware know as SpeedFan. http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Are you using a stock or 3rd party cooler? is the first question. And are those seen when idle or when you have a load on the cpu? For stock cooling those would be a little on the low side. SpeedFan will give you about as accurate as any software like the Asus Probe and Probe II would on temp reading on the board as well as the cpu.

speedfan gives me about the same temps idle. I'm using a tuniq tower 120.

I guess if there are two temperature diodes, one per core, and one is being used harder than the other..

Mine does that too. I don't know if it is a bug with everest and the other measuring tools (speed fan doesn't even pick up core1/2) or it could be that core1/2 diodes are internal and CPU temp is an external one (in the socket or something)

lol i actually get the exact same temps... 37 and 41... with the arctic freezer 7 pro though. this heatsink is sweet for the price. btw i turned my case on its side and the temps evened out to 39 and 39 i think its because the heatsink has more pressure on one side of the IHS haha

what temp do you get under full load?

Your temps dont seem THAT bad...

BTW, what temps do u get under LOAD (try running Prime95, a program which puts load on your CPu)

Just remember when running SpeedFan that the #1 temp is for the cpu and the #2 temp seen is for the board not cpu. With a dual core cpu that can throw you off a little. The Faq section explains that you have to let the system set idle for a few minutes and then put a good load on it. The cpu temps will be the ones that see temps rise first. http://www.almico.com/sffaq.php
