cpu temp ?

every program i use is as reliable and accurate as each other they all say the same. But core temp is easiest as its loads in a second and shows the core temps

PC Wizrad and Speedfan say the same temps, but Intel TAT and Core Temp both say different temps, but they're the same as each other, so there's two sets of temps

Would you re-apply the AC5?

There is like 3 temps to display, core 0 core 1 and cpu temp, which may be what your seeing different

id get core temp and use that to show you how hot it is

and i wouldnt bother with re applying AC 5 because its most probably not going to change anything if a degree or two

Yeah, You read each of the cores don't you...

Core Temp shows the same temps as Intel TAT  lol, there's so many!

Yeah, Guess you're right...

I've Emailed Intel asking them what they say is the best tool for this, so I'll let you know if I get a reply!

52C under load is a good temperature. I really wouldn't worry about it. If it climbs above 60C, then I'd start to do something about it. On a hot day after a good gaming on BF2 I find that my core temps are around 52C and my GPU is around 54C'ish. Like I said, with my C2D the only time I would be concerned is if it started going above 60C.

PC Wizard is also what I use to monitor temperatures. It seems to be the application which gets the closet readings to that of TAT. Both speedfan and PC Wizard also read my voltages as some crazy figure as opposed to the actual voltage so I wouldn't worry about that either.

Hmmm, Guess you're right, there...

PC Wizard is really far off TAT, TAT is 32c and PC Wizardis 19c...

Yeah, it does that with my voltages too!

I got an Email from Intel telling me to Email Gigabyte, so I did and they say that Easy Tune 5 is the best for reading the temp of the CPU on my Gigabyte board, it reports it as being 13c, which I highly doubt, so now I'm just stumped!!!

Checking his BIOS is about as useful as those programs that misread. You can't check your BIOS when under heavy load so for load testing that's pretty useless. Your board isn't that different from mine and the majority of those applications work fine for me. To be honest if your not noticing any problems with your PC (such as crashing, general use lag, locking up) I wouldn't worry about it until then.

Thanks Rove, I plan on OC'ing sometime soon, so I'm trying to find the best one... Which one do you use the most?

K, don't worry about your temperatures unless you start getting over 65C or so in PC Wizard. For overclocking, you can handle higher temperatures for temp. For instance, right now I'm running my Pentium D at 74C :P. I guess it is putting out over 210 watts of heat ;). Is it worth it for nearly 1100PPD? Probably not. Bah for the 8xx series of Pentium D. Be glad you have a Core 2 Duo :D.

Actually Dan you may be getting false readings from PC Wizard, it puts the system and CPU temps the wrong way around!

So, Intel TAT is the one to trust?

Sorry, what does that mean? :P

lol, Thanks Jet, I am glad I have a Core 2 Duo :) So you think my temps are Ok?

Pablo (:P), so you think I should use Intel TAT too?

1100PPD is for the Folding @ Home project. I use both TAT and PC Wizard. PC Wizard is pretty much dead on with what TAT says anyway so both are good for me to proof each other.

Well it's a toss-up, and I think the way the software's decoding the signals from the sensors is incorrect so I've given up and just waiting for it to blow up spectacularly.
