CPU Temparature!

I have a AA8XE motherboard and when i play any games it sounds a siren.
I checked my cpu temp and it is running at 59 degrees centigrade while just skimming the BIOS!...

Why is it running at such a high temparature? I think i may have put on too much thermal paste on the H.S.F and CPU but other than that everyting was installed fine.

Also the two fans at the back of my pc illuminated in red l.e.d are not on. What are they called and how do i turn them on. Could it be this affecting system performance?

I have a AA8XE, X700, AEROCOOL PSU (320W), 1 Gb OF RAM, 3.4 GHz P4

Thanks in advance

not to sound daft but have you connected the fans to the mobo, also some case fans run straight from the PSU, maybe you need to connect them up to some juice.

Are you overclocking at all? if you running a p4 3.4ghz then it'll be a prescott core which have a reputation for getting very hot when oc'ing. Are you using the stock cooling fan

it is tough to get the ammount of thermal paste right, just try the process again. Be sure to remove all the old gloop first

I think your heatsink has bad contact with the CPU, you either have too much thermal paste or not enough

Means they arent getting power .. wiggle the molex connectors :)
