CPU Temperature

What is the standard control limits when setting up your CPU temperature controlers?

This is my current system:

Intel Pentium 4 511J
2800MHz

MotherBoard: ECS P4M800-M7 V3.1

Processor Temperature: 122° F
Main Board Temperature: 95° F

If you need more data please let me know.

Thanks,

John

this is way too high for the mobo
and for the cpu i think u can start to worry about it if it goes above 90 while the standard is 60 in most software like EastTune5

You guys do realize that those are Farhenheit don't you? 122 F is 50 C which isn't dangerously high, though if that is at idle you might want to check why its that high (ie case ventilation, heat sink)

As the others said, that's quite high, espcailly for your case temp! My case temps are usually around the room's temp. My hottest processor(my laptop) maxes out around 116*F idle.

With your case being that high(well, I assume your mainboard is basically your case temp and not like a chipset or something) you probably mostly just need more circulation though the case. Do you have case fans and a pretty open area around the computer?

My CPU is presently 104°F at full load, with room temp of 74°F, but then, I directly ducted room air to the CPU fan:P In summer, though, with a room temp of like 85°. I'll get CPU temps of like 115-118°F.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments!!! I have installed another fan which has helped lower my temps.

Again,
Thank You

hey guys im brand new to this place.....just wondering how to figure out what the different temps on my mb are some kinda scare me and i didnt know what the normal temps for this board are i have an asus a7n8x with an amd athlon 3200

Sorry I don't think I quite understand your post, but, if you need to monitor your temperatures, and you have an Asus board, pop in the cd that came with it and install the Asus system monitor utility.

If you need to know what the normal temperatures are for your board, just roughly follow what has already been said in this thread.
