CPU temps?

ok. Question is not so much with the temps, as the cure time on http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_- this thermal paste. Its realy starting to worry me as the temp shown below is the lowest its been since I started it about an hour ago. So, about how long will I be seeing these extreme temps.

Curing takes a while but after it is cured it will only take down the temperatures a bit. maybe 1-2 degrees? I think there is something else wrong.

How did you apply the paste and what cooler are you using?
 
There is quite a few complaints about that stuff drying up too quickly. Not sure I would be using that stuff.
 
standard heatsink for this laptop. Applied a rice sized bead in the middle of the Thermal Diode of the CPU and GPU.
The heatsink is new (fan failed on the last one). Checked that the fan is turning. There is significant heat being pushed out of it.

Should I check another monitoring app, just to be sure that it is not a misread?
 
Not a bad idea to get a second opinion on the temperature but being that it is a laptop the temps can be in that range. What were the temperatures before you replaced the thermal compound? Are there any vents that are blocked?
 
no vents are blocked. Its setting on a desk, and good airflow (drilled it out to be sure air is moving to it).
Temps before were in the 95* range, but the CPU fan wasnt turning.
 
seems like a best case scenario for keeping the temps down. Can you change the fan speed for the cooler in your BIOS? I am not sure if laptops have that feature.
 
some laptops have that feature, But the only options in the BIOS of this one is turning AMD-V on and boot order changes.
 
Hmmm...

Well for now I would just watch the temps to make sure that they do not get a whole lot higher. Look into speedfan to see if that will give you any more data. I am guessing that it will give the same reading since it will likely be reading off the same temperature gauge.

It looks like it can go to +90c before it can really hurt itself. I only found that on one source so I am not too sure how reliable that is :/

they are starting to move down (~77*C now). Either way, ill keep an eye on it and report back if t gets up near 85 or so.
