A few years back my brother bought this here computer:
Processor: Intel Celeron 2.0ghz
Ram: 768 mb
OS: Win XP Home (2002, service pack 1)
Now. I cannot be certain, but I do believe that every since day one it has had issues. We've replaced the RAM and formatted // reinstalled windows xp from scratch. But stil, if you leave the computer on for 30 minutes unattended it will almost be guaranteed to have frozen.
It isn't a software issue (as for as I can tell) so the question is this: What type of hardware issues might that be?
-incompatible CD-RW drive?
-CPU malfunction?
-Motherboard Malfunction?
-Wrong voltage and such in bios?
-Or is it possible that the guy at the store (a small-business) over clocked the thing and it's coming back to haunt us?
Whatever the case maybe, I would be greatly appriciative of some suggestions.
Also: I just tried installing Battlefield 1942 on it and it just doesn't load up the level. The computer doesn't freeze.. .it's just the game freezing. I'm not using the onboard video processor.. and I've tried 2 seperate video cards.
Just incase that is related.
Thank you for suggestions!
Ciao,
Owen
