Cpu Thermal Grease Issue

Hey Guys

You may or may not have seen my posts about my cpu overheating issue well My friend gave me this thermal grease and said that it was good stuff so i went along with him and I put it on.

So just then i took off the case and had a look at the processor heat sink and fan and to my horror after taking the bolts off it just came off no stick at all. So i went and got the stuff that came with the Processor Heatsink and put that on. Now 45 mins after i put it on the temperatures are staying at a level temperature for once :)

How long should i leave the computer on so it can go through the heat cycle?

Ok its now 9 hrs since i put the thermal paste on and things seem to be going good its running at around 38*- 40* at the moment under a bit of load is there anything else i should do other than leaving it on.

No it had thermal paste but it was not good thermal paste it never worked properly and that was 1 reason why i was experiencing overheating issues. Now after putting the stuff that came with the HSF it seems to be going alright.
 
Yea i do not think i need any more paste. Anyway whats the big deal about arctic silver 5 i heard it only drops the cpu temperature by 0.5* which isn't much difference. Btw i will put the cpu under some strain this arvo and see how the temperature goes
