I'm not getting the full experience out of my system, with my processor.

I'm looking at an E8400, my friend who overclocked his to 4.5 stable, could sell me his for $100, while at TigerDirect, it's $170 new.

They both come with warranties, btw.

if you don't buy his e8400 i might. get it from your friend bc apparently it's a good overclocker.... depending on the specifics of his system, cooling and voltages. PM me if you want more info

yea thats a pretty good deal. i know a guy on another forum that got his to 4.5ghz on air without any overvoltage, prime95 stable

now that is a rare chip

my e8400 so far has been the best CPU i've ever owned. its not overclocked ATM but i got it to 3.6 without any effort and it was disgustingly fast. it runs very cool. very worthy of your money IMO

I ended up not getting a cooler, didn't really see anything I liked.

Any coolers on Newegg, or another good site, that can compete with water cooling?

Thanks.

Alright, I'll have to look into those.

I just don't see water cooling working well for me, with maintaining it and everything, so.

And also, my current CPU cooler has those push pins, that attach on the mobo, and it's a real pain to get them on, and it's been on and off a bit, so they're kinda chipping off, so.

Thanks.

Alright, so I was comparing prices from Newegg and Tigerdirect, Newegg is $170 with free 3 day shipping, and Tiger is $180 with a 1 or 2 year warranty, the 1 year is like $30 and the 2 year is around $45, I then checked Microcenter, and they have the same processor, E8400, for $150, with the original price being $190.

I'm going to try and pick it up tomorrow.

My friend is saying that my current CPU cooler wont run the E8400 around 4GHz..

What do you think?
