Cpu upgrade...your choice

Nah, get an E8400 ;) future is your future, what are you going to use your comp in the next year or so? gaming right? get a dual core.

Nah but if you really feel like your comp needs to be "future proof" get a quad then... :rolleyes:
 
well i was under the impression that i might be able to OC a Q6700 to maybe 3.2-3.3Ghz where i might be able to get around the same if maybe more with the e8400 so its a hard choice.
 
Im sure you can get at least 3.7GHz with the E8400. ThatGuy16 has 4GHz, I know water cooling but he had it at like 3.8 or 3.9 on air.

Now if you really want a Quad, why not 45nm? The Q9300 runs cooler than Q6600 and E8400 sometimes. Overclocks very stable @ 3.0GHz and some people push it even further to like 3.5GHz I've seen in forums...

the 45NM Quads are still quite pricy tbh,The e8400 is just in my budget,well i dont have a set budget i could go up alot more if i wanted but thats just silly.

But like i said the e8400 is in a nice price range :)

4mb more cache than my e6300 NICE!
 
I don't think I'd buy another Dual Core, no matter how high they went, I'd take a 3.2GHz Quad over a 4Ghz Dual any day :)

But, Like I've said, I do 3D Work and such, so it'd be better for me.
