CPU Upgrade

Hy ! My system: CPU Intel Pentium4 2.40 GHz, socket 478 mPGA, core voltage 1552 V, MMX SSE SSE2, FSB 533 MHz, motherboard Asus P4V8X-MX chipset VIA P4M800, RAM 1.5 Gb !! I'd really like to buy a new processor (e.g. Core 2 Duo) but I don't know that much about IT and I want to know what kind of modifications should I make to the hardware before buying a new Intel processor ??? I often use Photshop CS3 and latest video games and they don't run very well.

Well they don't make core 2 duo processors for socket 478 so what you're going to have to do is buy a new motherboard with socket 775 that supports a core 2 processor. What kind of ram do you have? DDR1 or DDR2 If you have ddr 1 i would recommend getting a board that supports both ddr1 and 2 just so it's easier to upgrade later (i think they make boards that have support for both types) You're also going to need to get a video card if you expect to play any games well (i don't see one listed above) Make sure the motherboard you're getting supports PCI-E because AGP video cards are older, slower, and more expensive.
