I just have a quick question that I have gotten mixed answers on...I have a Dell PC..with a P4 2.4 478 socket at 533MHZ FSB and I think 512 cache.....I have bought a P4 3.0 478 socket that works at 800 FSB an 1.0 cache and Hyper threading....the Mobo can support up to a P4 3.4 at 533....I was told that by Dell.....my question is will the new processor operating at 800 FSB be alright .. , I have been told that the new P4 will just operate at 533 instead of 800 and it will just be alittle slower then it could be and won't cause any damage....Is this info correct and does the cache size matter.....and what Bios setting will I have to change...or will they change by them selves when I install the new processor...Thanks in advance to anyone that helps...
