cpu upgrade

would i notice a significant difference in performance if i upgraded from an AMD Sempron 64 2800+ to an Athlon 64 3200+ , it's on a socket 754 mobo and yes i know they're being phased out for the likes of socket 939 and AM2 but i just want to know if it will be worth my time changing the cpu. :)

there is little difference to be noticed. 400 PR points will probably only show up on benchmarks. Upgrading RAM maybe a more effective option

EDIT: Ignore i see you have 2gb already

i would of thought little difference between 2800+ sempron and 3200+ sempron, but surely athlon is superior to sempron?

appologise, i didnt see it was sempron to athlon upgrade. I though we were talking within the same class.
You may notice an improvement in heavy tasks, and gaming. But dont expect your browser to open any faster :P

apoligy accepted:)
well i may as well give it a go then, as it's only £25 for the new CPU and i'm sure i've got a spare mobo somewhere that i can slap the old CPU into and flog to recover the cost of the new upgrade:D
In fact , "**** it" i might as well build a spare tower out of my parts collection and KVM it to my tower now. :D
