CPU usage 100%

hey guys,

latly my pc has been running really slow, i have 1GB of ram and a 2.4 mhz processor.

when i opened my task manager i found that my CPU usage was at 100%

here is a screen shot were u can see 95% of my CPU usage is been taken up by a certain program.



could any1 explain 2 me what this process is and what i can do to fix this?
 
its part of your anti virus software, norton. If you disable it you will lose some functionality. Before you go screwing with it i would suggest reinstalling your anti virus software.
I'm moving this thread to General Software section for better classification

but i dnt have the CD =[

it was installd by a local shop who formated my pc.

this has also jst started in the past 2 -3 days.
 
you can just unistall norton, or find it in search and manually delete it its risky so be sure to make a restore point this will also show you where its running from

norton is crap it uses to much of your pc get rid hear is a list of free software you can use
avg anti virus
zonealarm firewall
spybot search and destroy spyware killer
adaware anti spyware
all of these are free all are great and all will work together
get these ditch norton

norton is an excellent program with one of the best GUI's around. The only downside is that it takes up a fair amount of RAM.
