when i am on the internet and i check the cpu usage in the task manager it usually is at 0-8% and then when i go back a page or to a new page in internet explorer it jumps to 20-40%. does anybody know why it does that. and my usuall PF usage is 250-300 mb is that high at all

no, if you look under the processes tab of the Task Manager you will see a list of all yous running processes. It will show you how much cpu each process is using and the memory footprint of each one

if you add it, it can display the percentage of cpu usage for each process also.

It does the same with me- around 7%, then i hit the back button or something and it goes to like 27% for a split second, then just goes back to normal. Like APJ said, its just because it is processing the page.

You must not have a amd if something went wrong..
I think that is an attempt at fanboyism. But lets stay on topic and if you must revive a thread in future let it be for something useful ;)
