CPU Will not POST :(!!?

Hey guys!

I actually built this CPU about.. 6 months ago. The problem is my GF went to turn it on this morning but nothing displayed on the monitor. At first I thought the monitor was off.... So I dragged myself outta bed and checked it out. The monitor was on but nothing was being displayed. So I turned it off and went back to sleep. I was able to check it out a little bit before I came into work. I thought it maybe the connection that the monitor plugs in from the video card (That little piece that converts the connection so you can plug in your monitor). So I switched it with a new piece, still no success. I also tried to open the CD Tray when the CPU was on and running, but it did not function and would not open. Can anyone help? If so I would be more than happy to Paypal some $ to the person who can help me resolve this issue.

My first instinct would be to try and replace the video card with something else and see if thats the problem, usually thats one nothing is displayed on screen.

If it isn't the video card, try each of these: resetting the CMOS, taking out 1 stick of ram, disconnect the hard drive

Yeah, recheck your connections and all, make sure the motherboard isn't touching the case. Its very possible that the power supply has failed... also if your have a way to try another video card or onboard video try that. We dont need money, we are here to help :)

what happens when you power it on any light flash or any beeps ?
I have seen many video cards crap out so that would be the first thing i would check but just in case

The best thing to do is open the case and pull all the cards even the RAM and unhook everything except the PSU, power button and speaker and try to boot it and see if it posts.
if it posts you will know from the fans and beeps you should start by putting in the RAM and post again next install you video card and post again then start hooking items up one at a time and post in between each item until it wont post nomore that will be the bad part.

if it dont post with everything unhooked and pulled out i would start by shorting the power swith jumpers to verify if the power button is bad,

If nothing happens you know your PSU is bad
if it PSU starts it has to be your mobo.

This is the way you local computer store will build a system one item at a time and post in between
starting with nothing then the ram and video card next then the HDD then the optical drive and then any other cards that as to be installed
