I currently have a E machine with a 945gct-m3 (v.3.1) mobo. I want to uprade to a dual core processer to game. Could someone recommend a good processer and heatsink and fan at a decent price.

I reccomend the most performant processors for gaming, but theese have higher prices, especially intels.

The board will support a dual core, you dont need a new board. And just getting a dual core does not mean you need to upgrade the P/S. So no you dont need to do a new build. Come on guys get it together with this stupid post crap. If you dont know (dont post).

Sure, but with a new video card, you would more than likely need a new PSU, unless you already added a new one.

200.00 just for the video card. I want as solid of a card as i can get with few issues in installing and running the card. Either ATI or NVIDIA it really doesnt matter.

For under 200 a 4850 or for alittle less a 8800GT. But like said if you upgrade to one of those you will probable need a new P/S. Whats the rated watts and amps. of the your stock P/S, should be on the side.

I would not fool with a 9600GSO, its just a renamed 8800GS. You can get a 8800GT for 129 bucks. Or go for a 4850.

Yes, you have PCI Express x16, however, PCI Express 2.0 x16 cards will work in it
