Cpuz readings keep jumping around

An overclock like that shouldn't be making as much difference in games. Have you tried those games at stock clocks and seen how they perform?

The package temperature is what you want to pay attention to in HWMonitor. The Vishera processors don't have individual core temp sensors. What temps are you getting to? You should push the voltage a bit more if you can. What voltages are you at right now?

yeah thats what i been reading...just annoyed ive spent 2 days(besides when im asleep or at work) trying to get this right...i just need a little more patience :)
Ima keep working at it till i get it right...tax time is coming maybe i might upgrade and get another fan for my cooler to have a push pull affect and upgrade my case fans so that i can control them better...better yet get a WC...but that might be overstepping my technical know how

Cpuvcore 1.48v Package 16c and thats idle

i dont think my setup is ready for overclocking, I just ran the s.t.a.l.k.e.r Call of pripyat benchmark on ultra and it had my package temp up to 65c :::pout:::
Thats at 4.5, 1.48v
And i hope i put the paste on right, lol

That seems really high. Was that at stock clocks?

Did you put the thermal paste on correctly?

Also, just edit your last post rather than triple posting in quick succession. :)

You'll only knock a degree or two off by adding another fan to the Evo. It's not particularly dense.

I have the non EVO 212+ and I lost a good 4-5 degrees at load with an extra fan on my Phenom. Haven't tested with a Vishera though.

We need your temps at stock clocks and full load to know where to really go from here.

I've tested my EVO with CM Scout II case fans, Corsair SP120 PEs, stock fans and various edition of Fractal Design fans, and I never saw more than 3-4C drop in temps. Even had a cheap thermometer so I could feel professional and watch the delta :)
My test was for performance/noise. At 7v the stock fans won, and at 12v the Scout II fans won. The more you know.

Im not worried about noise...i actually adjusted my fans to run at 60% after 20c and 100% after 50c...i have 2 kids noise is the least of my concerns lol...sorry for late response, im a 3rd shifter and 3-4pm is my bed time so i can be at work by 11pm..thast why u see me here so early in the morning like now cause i just got off work

any suggestion on coolers...im alittkle angry wit the evo...i bout a full tower expecting everything to fit...but the prongs at the top of the evo clip the fins of my side panel fan, so i have to kinda pop out the bottom of the panel so i can run the fan..but the evo got awsome reviews thats why i bought it

Just pull out your side panel fan. I find them more of a hindrance than a help.

The EVO is indeed a great cooler. It's probably the best price/performance cooler out there, but it's $35. A Noctua D14 will obviously be much better, but also much pricier :)

price isnt really an issue...im getting a nice tax refund and i always puit away a good grand give or take to splurge on myself...and i like my side panel fan..its goes with the blue led theme of my case :-(

Those temps are incredibly good!

If you want to overclock, don't just go for a high clock speed. Slowly bump up the multiplier until you get a BSOD on boot. Then bump it down slowly and stress test until it's stable.

Vishera and Bulldozer temps are flat wrong at idle. Strangle can explain it better than me but they're idle temps are frequently impossible since they're colder than room temperature. The sensors read wrong at idle but it somehow makes the load temperatures more accurate. You can't do that without some sort of refrigeration.

56 (your max temp your CPU got to) seems kind of high for that cooler. As Strangle said, what was is your cooler facing? Did you apply the thermal paste when you installed the CPU?

56 on max load with that cooler sounds fine to me. Anything above 65 is more worrysome with that cooler.

It's not a worrysome temperature but it seems high for it. My 8320 at stock doesn't even break 40. Then again I've got AS5 and a push pull on my 212.
