Crappy Computer

Hi and thanks for everyone post on this forum as it has proved a valuable source.

I have a little question:

My PC will not shut down. Restarted the computer, and everything closed ie mouse, keyboard and monitor shut down, however the computerunit itself is still on (the fans are still going). I disconnected the power lead and connected it again however the computer is still on. I thought the on/off button may be to blame so i disconnected the lead from the button to the mother board and turned the computer back on, however the computer was still in the same state.


Anyone got any suggestions????

How can the computer stay on when you pulled the plug? I'm guessing this is an laptop... either the PSU is bad, or the motherboard, (desktop)

when the plug is pulled out the computer turns off and the computer in question is a desktop pc.

sounds like the psu. just because it turns off but the power is on

Same here... try replacing the PSU with an cheaper on or an spare one.
