Crashed with no re bootie

Took a hard crash today while downloading a video. System froze so I shut down by hand, rebooted and ChekDisc from XP (p4, 3.2, 512, XP system) ran and found nothing but got stuck so I rebooted again only to get to the page below in the video.

I installed restore disc and almost wiped the drive. Any ideas on where to go from here? Thanks for any help,

 
Yeah, lots of un backed up important stuff in there and of course I need access to it in the next week...
 
Nope, can't boot into any mode as seen in the video on the initial post.

Hydra, hmmm, a budding single celled animal. Bugger~
