Is there a program that records information that i can view after crashing, about a crash?

Its happened to me a few times, watching movies on the internet(i am using firefox 3.0.8(i just upgraded it was crashing on 7, but i upgraded today so nothing yet)). What happens is the entire screen gets distorted and then my comp freezes. The only other time i can remember is when i was palying FEAR2, then same thing happened.(this has only happened twice in 3months).

Also some times after shutting down my computer, when i turned on my computer it says some files are missing and cant boot up. So i have to put inn the vista disk and repair then it works.(this has only happened twice in about 3months).

Also just a question, is it weird that when i boot up my computer and my ipod is plugged in i tries to boot from that? What would i change in the bios so it didnt do that?

Thanks.

PS: the computer is the one in my sig.

in the search bar, type in "event viewer" and open the top result. this will show you events, system failures etc. you can also type in "problem reports and solution" these may or may not help you, but they're worth looking at.

also have you overclocked the CPU at all? often times my screen would freeze when i had an unstable OC.

for this you will see an option that says "boot order" or "boot priority" or something along those lines in the BIOS. all you have to do is change it from the ipod to the HDD.

tknick90 pretty much said it all. The only other possibility may be unstable video drivers crashing, but I can't see that causing the need for a windows repair.

Thanks ill try that 90. Also no i havnt OCed my CPU, i did OC my GPU though could that do it? It does reset every time i restart my computer though. Ill OC it and see what happens. Thanks for the info!
