Crashing.

Hi guys. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some ideas as to why my computer keeps crashing. Let me try to explain this as best as I can.

The computer boots up completely normal, surfs the internet fine, but there's specific occasions where my computer will crash.

Scenario #1: I'll be listening to music in Windows Media Player, and then load a video on YouTube. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't. Typically it'll crash if I download a file and open it to Windows Media Player.

Scenario #2: I load the program Vuze, which is a Torrent Downloader. It will crash IMMEDIATELY.

Scenario #3: I'll load World of Warcraft or Vanguard, two MMOs. Vanguard is one of the most graphically intensive games on the market. Anywho, I can leave Vanguard running for hours on end, but after I close it, the computer crashes. World of Warcraft, it typically crashes after a minute or two into the game.

Any ideas? Is it something with the RAM? Memory leak? Is my video card shot? Registry errors? I don't even know where to start..

hey there, you mean crash as in turns off all the way? and it it turns of all the way, you could have a bad power supply, or maybe your power supply cant handle your set up. Or it could be some crashed files in windows, try re installing windows if thats the case.

The desktop doesn't turn it off. Let's say I'm listening to music, it'll just begin to loop the the same .2 seconds of the song it was on for like 5 seconds, really annoying btw, and then stop. But the desktop is still on because it's still glowing, theres just no connection with the monitor. Really strange.

Did you uninstall the old drivers first?

I've never done that to be honest with you.

My question is, why the program Vuze? I could understand WoW and Vanguard, the graphics engine coupled with everything else, something could go wrong, whether its the video card or PSU or whatever. But why Vuze? What the hell is in that program that makes it crash?

After a brief search, it's some kind of HD viewing software?

I don't know how that software works, but it may be that
something in your hardware doesn't like HD content.

Still using the card in my sig.

Idk, Vuze is running fine now. I cleaned my registry and re-installed the drivers. I'll let you guys know if it crashes again.

Okay well, I downloaded a bunch of videos into Windows Media Player, was watching YouTube videos in HD, Vuze was running, everything seemed to be working.

Then I went on WoW, flew around for a bit, killed something real quick, X'd out, and it powered down as soon as I X'd out. =/

Right- it could be a problem with your RAM- have you tried running your computer with just one stick of RAM? or running your RAM in different slots etc?

Have you tried running http://www.memtest.org/ that will test your memory for errors.
