Create restore disc from image?

Greetings,
I Have A Sony Laptop, Model Pcg-frv26 . There Is Apparently An "image" For The Purpose Of Restoration Of The Hard Drive Operating System, Etc.

My Question Is, Is It Possible To Make An Actual "restore" Disc From The Image File, Reason Being That If The Hard Drive Goes Bad, I Will Have No Way To Put In Another Hard Drive And Restore The Stock Settings. Can This Be Done And Exactly How?.....thanks Again!

I dont understand, you have a restore disc with the image on it, that should let you boot from it and apply itself.

...thanks for the reply;

1...i have the computer as mentioned above.
2...on this computer, there is a partition that aparently holds the image file
for the restoration of the computer.
3...i have no restore discs or anything for this laptop.
4...if my hard drive takes a dump, W/OUT any restore discs for this
computer, i'm out of luck when i replace the hard drive.
5...is there any way to "convert" the existing image file (as previopusly
mentioned) on the existing partition or burn/copy it to a cd-
rom or dvd rom disc should the need arise later?
