Creating recovery disc for vista 64 bit not working

I've been procrastinating for a long time now (over a year) about creating the recovery disc for our laptop.

I open Recovery Disc Creation and go through the steps. When it says it's creating files, it goes pretty slow. AFter about a minute, it's at 6% and it says "Cancelling in progress. Recovery disc creation will resume where you left off in this process the next time you start the program."

However, it doesn't. It just keeps doing the same thing when I open it again.

Any ideas?


I suppose I should add that I have Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

Why don't you make an image of your current system instead. That can be done on DVDs although an external disk would be preferable. See this little tutorial I made for the purpose.
