critical system error

have picked up something that when trying to use computer comes up with "critical system error and trojan win 32 Agent.akk".
telling me that need hightech anti spyware and to download and buy to cure it.
how can i get rid of this...have run avg and avira anti virus and they dont find it.

Hmm maybe you are reading a pop-up? I mean does that appear when you are connected to the Internet or always when you trun on the comp? Please be more specific.
 
critical software error

it occurs without internet being on. came up when using word. it does seem to happen more when on the internet. it also says computer will crash if software not downloaded. the only way to get rid is to hit cancel box....sometimes this has to be done 2 or 3 times. can still use internet and computer but gets annoying having to put up with this nusiance.
 
Aha...see now I'm sure...That's an add, a smaller type of AdWare virus, so it's created to make people buy and install new SpyBots and stuff you know...
But it has to be easy to get rid of it... Try with startup, you know run, msconfig and startup, and see if anything strange is there, and un-check it.
If that doesn't do it, try this way: first go to IE > Tools > Manage Add-Ons > disable the one that probably is unregistered like DivX file then go to above location and DELETE it!hope that helps :P :cool:

Oh yes the last line in the first part: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\Barry\critical system error.exe
Ok you see where it is placed, go there to Documents and Settings, Desktop, Barry, and you will find that folder or file where that ( AdWare I think) is placed.

Oh yes please write in did it work.

found file/folder but wont let me delete...comes up with.....
cannot delete critical system error. access denied. make sure disk is not full or write protected!!!!!!!
 
Ah damn... Are you on Windows account as Administrator? or just guest with username and password without some rights?
 
Try to move it! Try to CUT it to My Documents and then you will be able to debug it! I'm not too confident in this though! But try...
 
Your logfile also indicates that you are running both AVG Antivirus and Antivir. Two antivirus programs running in resident mode can conflict, actually making you less safe. I suggest you either remove one, or disable the real time protection on one and just use it as an on-demand scanner.

Please click on Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. If an entry for IE Defender appears, click on it and click Remove

Please run HijackThis and choose Do a system scan only.

Place a check next to the following entries:

Please reboot your PC.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a RiskTool; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between good and malicious use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

carried out a system restore on computer and seems to have cleared it...can only think children have downloaded something to have caused it. thanks for all your help
