Hey, just final thoughts on my build? Are the parts compatible with each other? Are the parts worth it? Taking ANY suggestions. Anyways, here's the build. Budget $750-800

That case is terrible for the price. No cable management at all. The HAF 912 is also $60, and is an amazing case for the price.

That storm scout look nice, so I guess I'll take that. I only chose the 300 because it was $40 after rebates.
Nice find on the HDD!
Any comments on the PSU, motherboard, compatibility?
 
Ordered everything, should be a few days before they come in. If I run into trouble, I'll post in this thread again. Hopefully I won't post here.
 
Yep. They have at least three different warehouses. One in Cali, one in Memphis, TN, and I think the last one is in NY somewhere.

There's at least one more in Canada.

Which wires?

If it's the ones coming from the case, they should be labeled. The spots to plug them in are nearly always in the bottom right corner of the motherboard, and are often multicolored. There should be some sort of labeling on the mobo as well. If positive and negative matters, they'll mark it with + and -. Usually it's labeled in something akin to shorthand, but you should have at something along the lines of:

Power LED(comes on when the computer does) = pw led, pled, powerled, etc
Hard drive LED (shows hard drive activity) = HDD, Dled, HDLED, etc
Power switch (this one is obvious, no?) = power sw, pswitch, psw, power, etc
Reset switch (reset button...just like your old Nintendo!) = reset, rled, etc


As far as the power and data cables go, if it fits, it goes there. :good:


+1 on reading the thread that Bill posted. The only thing it lacks is cable management, since the Antec Nine Hundred doesn't have any. The Storm Scout allows you to run cables behind the motherboard tray, so they're not in the way of everything. It helps with airflow, and gives a much cleaner look. Here's a picture that someone else made to help:

Also... Youtube will have a video to answer any question you can possibly think of. They have funny videos of cats, too.
 
Bill, I was following the guide you posted, but it was vague on how to connect the wires. I was only asking to check if I have the needed wires connected. Is it OK to connect all the wires that fit? That's kind of what I did.
 
Hi guys, I've finally found enough time to finish my build. But, when I plugged in the monitor, it says "no signal". The top fan, cpu fan, gpu fan, the right bottom fan are running, but not the top left fan. The hard drive is working. When I tried to plug in my keyboard, it doesn't seem to work as well. Any ideas on what the problem is? I've rewired the build twice already.
 
You sure all of the connections are in properly? 8-pin CPU on top of the mobo, and PCIe to the graphics card? Do you have the motherboard standoffs in place?

If so, try booting without your gpu in...just use onboard graphics.

Everybody runs across something dumb during the build. No worries man, you'll have it up and running soon. :good:
 
Forgot the cpu 8-pin haha. But now when I boot up the pc, it says no drivers are found. And then why I tried to install win 7, it says no drivers are found either, and I can't install.

Edit: maybe I'm not plugging in the hdd and optical correctly. I have the samsung f3, should I use the sata 3gb or 6gb from the motherboard? There's 4 places to connect, which one should I connect to? There's a red cord that comes from the cases that's sata, where should I put that in?

Shouldn't matter which SATA port you put them in, as long as they're in one.

What exactly says that there are no drivers installed? The Windows disk?
