Difference is, build #2 has 8GB and 2 x video cards, i say go with #1 because you won't need 8GB of ram, and i don't think you will need 2 video cards, but you can always upgrade in the future.

Hope this helps.

Looks good.

Just one question why all the money on cases? Do they make that much difference?

Chees though. Ill lean towards build 2, thats if my built for sale computer sells good haha, When I feel like an upgrade, I built a mint computer, use it then sell it on trademe for retail. Makes good money

For cases you want a nice looking one, and that is a good website, but i look there and you can find things very well, not like newegg... but you can choose another case if you wish.

Good Luck with the build, and hope to help you in the future.

quads are fine for gaming.

Some people get them because the OC higher then the quads, the quad will be fine for your computer.

That is incorrect... Where did you hear this?

Stildawn - Back when this theory was tested, not many games had Quad core support yet. The E8400 @ 3GHz each core vs Q6600 @ 2.4GHz on each core. And since only 2 cores were supported, the E8400 would win, because of its higher overall speed.

However, things are changing. More Quad supported applications are being produced. Soon, the Quads will take over :P

Ok cool

Well ive got build 2 down to NZ$1721 using a website that searches for the cheapest price in NZ.

Now my question is, the Q6700 is 2.66ghz, what extra parts e.g. heatsinks/fans etc will I need to maybe bump that up to 3ghz stabley?

Thanks

That one looks pretty nice lol.

I want it to be stable as. Will stock cooling do this? If I get the Zalman what speed could I crank it to?

Is the difference between Q6700 and Q9450, that Q9450 is 45n? and the Q6700 65n? How much of a difference will this make to gaming? Should I go for the Q9450 instead?
