Crossfire question - Do I need a bridge?

I know this is probably a dumb question for just about everyone on this forum. HOWEVER!!! I just got my 2nd video card in today, I did buy a CF bridge regardless.. although, I am wondering is the bridge needed in order to CF? Or is it just plug it into the PCI slot and power supply and its ready to go?

For CF, yes you need the bridge.

However, you don't need the bridge if both cards are operating separately/independently (used for multimonitor setups)

Actually it depends on which cards. Lower end cards don't need a bridge.
