Crossfire question

I have a Sapphire x1600XT, which is great for what I do (light gaming ei. Half Life 2, etc.). I am looking to get a second card as an alternative to spending 300 on a 8800 (I wish!). I just need an extra boost for games coming out soon, but I can't really find this card anymore. Does anyone know how a x1650pro would work with this card?

I would focus on getting a DDR3 based Card. Im pretty sure you have to have the same card in order to Sli or Crossfire. You may just want to run one base card rather than having 2 crossfired. I would look into getting a good card, so you don't have to buy another for about another 2-3 years. Such as 8600GT, 7900GS, 8500GT 8800GTS.

Radeon x2600xt seems to be an equivalent to an 8600gt, is this true? The only reason i'd get the ati instead is because of ati's trade in rebate program, but only if it's worth it.

nvidia's 8 series cards are better than ATI X2K series cards based on reviews and benchmarks so I would go with any of the 8xxx series (preferably 8600 or 8800).
