Just go for it. I had never O.C before and I did it on this rig. I've had my CPU all the way up to 1.6150 Volts and my GPU up to 1.3 You have a 5850 so I'd assume It could go up to 1.3 and be fine. Now I don't run mine that high but I am at 1.225 and stock is 1.087 for me. Just look up your GPU and Cpu on google and see what other people O.C. them to and with what voltages. Takes a while to get them stable but you can get quite a good increase in performance.

But my CPU is on a stock Intel cooler.. So I'm not even going to touch clocks on that until I get a aftermarket cooler.
