crossfirex question.

I have an ATI xfx HD4850 that I would like to crosfire except I have a problem, I cant find another one for a reasonable price any more (maybe they stopped making them, but IDK).
So my question is, could I take a non-xfx brand HD4850 and crosfire it with my xfx card, or do the cards have to be made by the same manufacture? Thanks!
 
Yeah, i was on newegg today in school when I got the idea, but I just had to check. Anyone else ever try something like this?
 
Sweet! Any suggestions on what company to go with? I have an XFX now, so what would go good with it? (Idk what kinda question that is, but, well, just what's another good reliable company?)
 
Any of the top brand one are pretty good. MSI/XFX/Sapphire/HIS/Gigabyte/Asus. Dont care much for PowerColor or Diamond.
