Crossfire x1950 PRO, what PSU to pick up

WEll my system is in sig, like title says I'm picking up another Asus x1950PRO to give it some more power. Also need to pick up another PSU, y current is 575w, but the problem is it's only 25A on the single 12v line when the card requires 38A. It runs fine alone with the rest of my specs, but picking up another card will only increase power needs.

All "crossfire certified" PSU's only run 18A-20A on the 12V lines which is very confusing. I'm not a big genius on how power works, I know you could cross 12V lines and am pretty sure add their Amps together. But odds are any of these "Certified" PSU's come with PCI-E connectors already so no clue how you could cross that.

I hear you don't need a certified PSU anyways, just something that can supply the Amps. So I been looking at a few PSU's that have 20A per 12V line and figured I would check what others are running on x19XX's crossfired. I could pick up a Thermaltake W0099 power booster also, but once again Amp issues, would the Amp's of my PSU add with the Amp's of the booster? I'm honestly not looking to spend over $60-$70 on whatever path the PSU is that I choose so keep that in mind and don't give me some flame on this, there should be afew options out there for under that.

It's not as simple as adding the rails, but a total +12V figure will usually stated. It may be stated in terms of the total wattage on the +12V rails, which can be divided by 12 to find the total +12V amperage.

You do have a few options even at this pricerange. The Corsair VX550W ($68.90 after rebate) would be my first choice. The Antec TPIII 550W ($59.99 after rebate) is another very good option.

The Thermaltake drive bay PSU should be OK as well. The rail calculations are a little more complicated, but it should be fine for your system (just plug the PCI-E connectors for both video cards into it). What is your current PSU? (brand/model).

In my opinion SHOguy91, picking up another 1950 pro and a new PSU is a bad idea. I think you should save that money and see what the new cards in november are like, as crossfire isnt supported by many games and generally doesnt give much benefit when it does (i had sli and it was bad)

Thats what i think

They are coming out with another generation? Also I don't know a ton about SLI but I'm pretty sure crossfire has a few more options as far as getting along with games.

Anyways, buying a good new gen card would probably be $250+ where as I can pickup a x1950PRO for $120.

However if you sold your 1950 pro for around 60 or 80$ plus the money you would have spent on another one, you could have enough, and the performance increase would be massive

Selling computer parts isn't the easiest, also just did a search on Google and on this forum. I can't seem to find any serious Crossfire game compatibility issues. But SLi problems seem to be numerous. This is jus ta quick search though, so there could be stuff I am missing, either way, bump for more PSU ideas.

I wouldnt have thought that crossfire gives games problems, it juts wonnt give any extra performcane over one card that much,

And for the PSU id look at the corsair 520 HX, its amazing

I've seen comps with X1950's That run 3D06 at about the same marks as me on single card then when go dual they always seem to cross 8k. Thats pretty huge, Anyways ty from PSU suggestion I'll check it out.

Thats because 3dmark LOVES duel graphics, with my 7600gt 's in sli i got double the fps my 1950 pro now gets, but in game i get a whole lot more than my old sli

Either way, I am not getting a 2nd card atm, a friend made me an offer on my processor. So on the way is 2GB more memeory and a...... AMD 5000+ X2 Black Edition
