Again with the "radiation"? Your starting to sound paranoid..

The protective glass stops light from glaring on the screen.

If your that worryed, go take it to a TV repair shop and have them check it for x-ray problems...

My eyes burn when I look at pretty much any CRT for a long amount of time. I can stare at my LCD much much longer than my CRT. I don't think your eyes are burning due to radiation, if it's only 3 years old. If it was 10 years old then you could be worrying about it. This may sound weird, and I've never tried this myself, but why not trying wearing sunglasses for a day and see if that helps.

Your eyes are still burning cause you are on your computer 15 hours a day not because of radiation.

the normal human blink rate is 12 times a second. When using a crt that falls to 5 times a second, so you eyes dry out and become sore.
Solution
1- Blink more
2- Eye drops
3- Realise that you are spending too much time on the computer and go out sometime.
4- Realise that if you are spending most of your life on a computer maybe you should invest in some better equipement

edit:
read EVERY word (but maybe print it out rather than on screen ;) )

800x600

PS: There is this problem that brightness of the monitor increases/decreases automatically if its used for some time.. Why that happens? this crap was at the LG service centre and was'nt hell lot of a service for it.. Anyways, why thats happening?

Do you mean per minute? Because I don't blink 12 times a second.

Or is it once every 12 seconds? Except when really really tired, I blink about two or three times minute

But he said 5 for CRT, and 12 for non, so that really wouldn't be the way. I think I blink about 12-15 times per minute.
