CRT Monitor with ringing sound

I can hear "supersonic" sounds, my hearing is great and my vision is 20/17, beyond perfect. You may call me wierd but whatever. Anyway, my dad's CRT is making a ringing noise that he can't here but I can. Is there something bad about this?

Thanks

I do believe this is a vibration from the flyback transformer in the power supply section of the monitor. Sometimes, people with excellent hearing can hear this on monitors as well as on regular home television sets. Usually it means that it's possibly loose. Sometimes you can shim the base of the monitor to shift weight inside and as a result, very slightly warp or twist the chassis to stop the noise.
The only thing "bad" about it is that it annoys you. It won't harm your hearing.

no, this happens all the time, i believe he's right. my old monitor did it too, but one sharp rap on the back, (which incidentally broke my ring finger,) fixed that good. then i replaced it lol
