You're asking two different questions here. The poll says asks "What's plugged into your video card?", and the thread asks "What do you prefer, CRT or LCD?"

Well I have an LCD plugged into my video card, and I also prefer LCD since they take up much less room, and produce much brighter and overall better images.

hmm.. i like LCD cuz less space..but CRT i think has better colour and image...i have both CRT and LCD but prefer CRT

I like LCDs, they are brighter, have higher contrast, take up less space, you can get them in outrageous sizes, with a good response time they can be every bit as good or better than CRTs. Only drawback is that they are expensive.

That would depend on the exact LCD and CRT monitor, a CRT monitor can have just as high of a contrast and brightness as a LCD. My new CRT monitor(350$ to buy new, but I got it much cheaper used) has the normal brightness. Then there is a "Highlight" option and you can choose how much of a highlight to put on. (Different then brightness) and you acn atually select a box on the screen if you want, but you can also have it do the whole screen if you want the actuall light output to be higher, it can be setup so high that it hurts my eyes and lights up my room when no lights are on.

its easy to get 8ms lcd's so that eliminates ghosting and they also look so much better and take up much less space they are also lighter. need i say more?

LCD's here. I believe I am the only one in my house that still has a CRT television (or w/e it's called). Living room, parent's room, parent's offices have all been upgraded to LCD's. As far as computer screens, every PC in our house has an LCD display. From 15.4" to 19" I believe.

Game lovers? Many gamers (who can afford it) have already made the switch to LCD/flat-panel. Easier transportation for LAN's, less space, crisper/brighter images. The real problem with CHEAP LCD's is ghosting, but if you can spend a decent amount of money that's easily remedied.

The one thing I like with CRT's over LCD's, is that CRT's are more durable. So if someone comes by and pokes at something on the screen, all you need to worry about is getting the fingerprints off, vs worrying that they break the monitor.

Ah, true. I get so mad when my mom touches her LCD, as they seem "harder" to clean, and I don't like putting pressure on them to get fingerprints off. One day I am just waiting for the indention to stay, or for the screen to "tear". I usually don't let anyone within "touching distance" of my laptop lol. Actually the entire left side of my room is pretty much a "no touch" zone, with my swords/staffs, laptop, and various electronics.

haha thanks... i was just thinking that! i prefer LCD because its more portable (i like LAN parties) it looks cooler, and its easier on my eyes. not to mention desk space and wall mounting is cool too! especially since my speakers feature that as well.
i have a CRT though... which if im lucky that will change soon enough. im saving and i plan on getting one from circuit city for a decent price.

it is said that LCD panel price is going up due to capacity transferring to LCD TV panel, but i believe the future trend must be LCD, of course, CRT will be here and don't disappear...

thnx for ur response guys..i would LOVE to buy and LCD but i'm the kinda person who has to buy something good rather then WASTE 100$$ on a crappy ass LCD...so untill i can afforrd and LCD ( i'm spending all money on my digi cam next weeek) i will have my CRT..only problem...takes up too much space
