Iv got a packard Bell CRT monitor and for some reason the width is too much so i cant see anything on the sides of the screen and for some vert strange reason any program that i open like explorer the edges which fit in wen i shrink the exploerer abit so i can see evytin on the page has curved edges:confused: i wanted to know what this could be and how i can fix it:D im sure someone knows something? btw iv tried all the width settings on the monitros osd settings...dey all work except for the dam width one which seems to do nothing at all:confused:

i think this may be something to do with the screen calibration of the monitor, you need to go into the setup options for the monitor and change the geometry settings for it so that it is the correct shape and size.

iv tried that....if by that u mean when u press buttons on the monitor and change the settings through that...iv tried everyting through there and everything works except the changin width for the monitor when i edit them settings nothing happens....changing the hight and alighment workds fine:confused:

the one you're looking for looks like like a square with the sides bowed outwards.
if none of the controls work you should consider taking the monitor back

its non of the settings and i cant take it back lol i knw evytin about settin the width and that through the monitor buttons but its not that anuthing else it could be???

You dont happen to have this monitor hooked to say a laptop and running different resolutions on each display do you?

as in the pc tower lol its always been connected to that...just one day the monitor decided to become to wide to fit the screen:confused:

well, if it did just happen randomly one day then im saying your monitor just fried one of the voltage regs to one of its magnets, most probably the ones on the side that control the width parameters.

Have you got another monitor you can hook up and test it with to check its not the graphics card problem....??

If you need a new monitor check out eBay, tey have great deals on there, thats where my monitor came from (CRT), better still, fork out some dough and get a TFT.

no, check resolution settings... if 800x600 doesnt work, then resolution isnt the problem...
by that u mean if 800x600 dosnt work it isnt going to be the graphics card???
