well my computer random blue screens no matter what i do!!

done a memory test and it come up with "faulty hardware"

im gutted, there has been alot of money spent on this rig and there is another £350's worth of upgrades bought waiting to be fitted after christmas.

problem is ive spent all my dam cash now so i have no more money to buy some new sticks.

what are the chances of me finding the bad stick of ram?

what are the chances of there just being 1 bad stick?

ive dropped them down to 800mhz from 1066mhz and im able to boot it up and go on internet but as soon as i start cod4 its blue screens!

any ideas or opinions are welcom-also when i do come to buy new ram i would like 1066mhz sticks but double sidded modules, any recomendations people?

That sucks man! :(

Try each stick on it's own, running Memtest. It'll help you find out which one it is that's faulty.

yeh it does suck.....

but reading more into it, looks like crucial have alot of problems with there stick of ram now.

im gonna download a memory test program and post up

You've upped the voltage right? I believe Crucial's are 2.4V or something stupidly high like that for 1066?

never touched the voltage to tell you the truth i didnt even think of that-!

when i put them in months ago the booted into bios as ddr2 800mhz so i changed it to 1066mhz but didnt look into the voltage

That will probably be your problem then. Crucial's website says 2.0V but even at 5-5-5 I have a hard time believing that.

I'm running mine @ 850Mhz 5-5-5-15, with 2.1v. Crucial recommend 2.2v.

Never thought of that... Good thinking Crome!

well ive dropped em down to 800mhz and ive been playing cod4 with no problems!

last time i dropped it down to 800mhz i forgot to save settings in bios lol...

right so i'll have to up the voltage in bios next boot....

thanx cromwell, its weird how my ram has been working for months now at 1066mhz with not enough voltage ;)

Sometimes it does work fine. I'm undervolting my RAM without any problems but if you've dropped to 800 and it's fine then I'd say a bit more voltage will most likely fix it.
