I have a 128 mb sandisk cruzer mini. I have an older computer that I was trying to use but I cannot get the usb drive to work with windows 98. It works great on my windows xp and it worked great on ME as well. I went to the sandisk website and downloaded the driver for windows 98....I installed the driver as the instructions said but windows will never recognize the drive and I cannot get it to find the driver when I attempt to do a manual install. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using windows 98 second edition....the computer has 4 usb ports and can only be operated using a usb keyboard and mouse as it has no ps/2 ports. I have plugged other devices into the usb ports and it recognizes them fine. The cruzer mini stimulates no response at all. My next step will be to contact SanDisk on this issue.

if you have win 98 or older, then you need to use drivers that come with your flash drive, since they dont have a "mass storage device" driver. THe mfg website may also have the drivers.

It is a usb 2.0 device. Windows xp makes me aware of this everytime I plug it in to the usb 1.1 ports on my other computers.

Umm...no. On this computer, W98SE, I have a USB2.0 cd burner, and have used a USB 2.0 camera, as well as a couple of other USB 2.0 devices. Rest assured, W98SE can handle USB 2.0, just as long as the hardware supports it...
